life's kinda good part 2

(See part 1 here)

I'm kinda lazy to write the whole story here so I'll just put the pictures and short sentences. Lots of stUFF is happening rn and I may or may not write them here and ok I admit I haven't wrote like ~real~ things I don't even write my journal this week because when I get home I'm always pooped.

/rant end/

Oh and in Bandung we also went to other places such as:

*drumrolls* Museum of the Asian African Conference, as you see on the pic above.

It was held in 1955, ten years after Indonesia had the declaration of independence. There were 29 countries in this meeting. The point is to oppose the colonialism among the countries of Asia and Africa and to promote world peace, I think? These countries also had chosen not to take sides in the Cold War.

This conference room literally gave me chills. The moment you step in, there's this oh-shit-something-rlly-great-happened-here. And something great really did happened here.

Soekarno, the guy on the right, was the leader of the conference, he is also the founding father of Indonesia.

So apparently this is where the Bandung Walk happened, where the country representatives.......... well, walk down the street and you can see the photos here, and it's really awesome. Just like the feels in the conference room.

We went to a bakery not far from the museum. I forgot to take a picture, but imagine a really old bakery, not like a cutesy vintage bakery but the dark old factory-like bakery with steel bread rack thingies. It pretty much turned off my appetite but the croquette and raisin breads are the most delicious thing in the world. For once in your life shut up about how you hate raisin and taking it as ~failed chocolate chips~ and eat the damn bread you wouldn't want to eat any other food in your life.

since I can't take a picture of the bakery and the bread is now well digested in my stomach, this picture is the least I could do

And then we went to this amazing bookshop/artshop. It's small and hidden, and when you step in you can smell dust in the air but the stuffs are cuteeeee I want them all in my house

Oh right I also learned knitting! I bought the yarn at the art shop and my mother taught me to do it, like all the crafty stuffs I learned from her.

And I made this mini wallet!

Also bought mini notebook and postcards!!

But these things get boring. Once upon a Friday I wrote this in my journal:

"I know it's been an amazing five days but now we're not doing anything. Only like, chilling in front of the telly watching music videos or Baby TV or God knows what. And when I was waiting angrily for Tumblr to load, that feeling kicks in. I miss the comfort of my books, daily mail, fast loading internet connection, boring food, and Doctor Who. Also: boredom. Not this kind of boredom when you can't find anything to escape it (or maybe there is but you can't do it because it would wake the baby). Good boredom makes you do stuff. Like Phineas and Ferb's kind of boredom.

I think you never appreciate home until you're away from it. And I miss being able to see Benedict Cumberbatch's naked gif or listen to his voice without waiting for 3 hours or idk"

Have some pictures:
random ass pine cones I picked up in the forest

And my cousin's school is really the best school ever with the picturesque view just look at that WOW If I go here I would never pay attention in the class.

The cats are alright. The grey one is Kimmy (but we nicknamed her Kimi no Koto Ga Suki Dakara after the AKB48 song haha idk) and the white one is Katy. Look at her eeeeyes!!!

forgot to add it above: it's a house beside the bookshop. CUTEEEE

Baby cousin :333333
Then I got home. AND THESE WERE WAITING IN MY ROOM

IM REALLY HAPPY GOSH IT'S GOOD TO BE HOME

Bye guyz have a nice summer and remember to explore stuffs and do great things kay

life's kinda good part 1: scenerygasm and history crash course

soooo at least I achieved something in my ~summer break~ like you know going outside, instead of reblogging yet another Hogwarts scenerygasm post on my dashboard, or pretending to understand a sentence on the hard ass book I'm reading.

I went to Bandung, which is 2 hours drive from where I live.

so i'm taking pictures of highway views what the fuck am i doing with my life oh anyway ignore the dates on my camera I set the wrong date and i'm sorry this picture is stuck in the past for now
we stayed at my cousin's house for a night. She's starting 7th grade next week yet she's still annoying as ever. she and my 10 year old sister were partner in crime, creatures of chaos. they were conspiring against me the whole time.

My sister, my annoying orange cousin, and the tidy posh neighborhood.
the next day we went hiking and well......... i guess i thought the hiking wasn't really hiking and i didn't brought hiking shoes and flashlight so i went hiking wearing crocs. and that's the story of how i got a sore feet.

WHY IS THERE SO MANY TREES I CANT BELIEVE IT I MEAN LOOK AT THIS IT'S REALLY AMAZING OH MY GOD MY LUNGS ARE SO FULL OF FRESH AIR I CANT BREATHE WOW

gateway to the japanese cave

oh how i long for the sunlight

where people stock foods

air duct

mini sewer thingy?

There are 2 caves: from the Japanese colonial era and Dutch colonial era. Let Gramma tell you a story, kids. So Indonesia was colonialized by Netherlands and Japan for 300-ish years and 4-ish years, respectively. Dark times, it was, while slavery, racism, classism, and stuffs were still legal and they forced us to build this cave using only crowbar. I mean wow can you even build things with that???

The first two photos were the Japanese cave, you can see the walls were rough because it took only 3 years to build them while the Dutch cave took 18 years.

/history lecture end/ /pls don't close the tab/

This place is really rad. They got everything; air duct, mini sewer thingy (idk what it's called) and I bet it makes a great hidey-holes. I didn't see any ghosts, which is kinda disappointing.

looking fabulously tired

there's always time for ramen noodles
I guess I'll have to break my trip into 2 parts, unless you guys would get bored and stuffs. See you <3

.

It’s taboo to admit that you’re lonely. You can make jokes about it, of course. You can tell people that you spend most of your time with Netflix or that you haven’t left the house today and you might not even go outside tomorrow. Ha ha, funny. But rarely do you ever tell people about the true depths of your loneliness, about how you feel more and more alienated from your friends each passing day and you’re not sure how to fix it. It seems like everyone is just better at living than you are.

A part of you knew this was going to happen. Growing up, you just had this feeling that you wouldn’t transition well to adult life, that you’d fall right through the cracks. And look at you now. La di da, it’s happening.

Your mother, your father, your grandparents: they all look at you like you’re some prized jewel and they tell you over and over again just how lucky you are to be young and have your whole life ahead of you. “Getting old ain’t for sissies,” your father tells you wearily.

You wish they’d stop saying these things to you because all it does is fill you with guilt and panic. All it does is remind you of how much you’re not taking advantage of your youth.

You want to kiss all kinds of different people, you want to wake up in a stranger’s bed maybe once or twice just to see if it feels good to feel nothing, you want to have a group of friends that feels like a tribe, a bonafide family. You want to go from one place to the next constantly and have your weekends feel like one long epic day. You want to dance to stupid music in your stupid room and have a nice job that doesn’t get in the way of living your life too much. You want to be less scared, less anxious, and more willing. Because if you’re closed off now, you can only imagine what you’ll be like later.

Every day you vow to change some aspect of your life and every day you fail. At this point, you’re starting to question your own power as a human being. As of right now, your fears have you beat. They’re the ones that are holding your twenties hostage.

Stop thinking that everyone is having more sex than you, that everyone has more friends than you, that everyone out is having more fun than you. Not because it’s not true (it might be!) but because that kind of thinking leaves you frozen. You’ve already spent enough time feeling like you’re stuck, like you’re watching your life fall through you like a fast dissolve and you’re unable to hold on to anything.

I don’t know if you ever get better. I don’t know if a person can just wake up one day and decide to be an active participant in their life. I’d like to think so. I’d like to think that people get better each and every day but that’s not really true. People get worse and it’s their stories that end up getting forgotten because we can’t stand an unhappy ending. The sick have to get better. Our normalcy depends upon it.

You have to value yourself. You have to want great things for your life. This sort of shit doesn’t happen overnight but it can and will happen if you want it.

Do you want it bad enough? Does the fear of being filled with regret in your thirties trump your fear of living today?

We shall see.

days like this.

Sometimes I have no idea what to do today. that's normal, they say. Not for me, because I get anxious if I have nothing to do all day or just lay there with my laptop jumping from one blog to another. I have to make something out of this hours I spend in my room but if I don't I'll feel bad about myself what's wrong with me??

A few days ago I went to my friend's house and ended up sleeping over. She fed me up with anime and we didn't realized it was already dark outside. And I made her watch Orphan and Bunheads, so it was a tie. basically we were just slouching on her couch and talk. A lot. Very counterproductive, but am happy.

After I went home I caught cold and cancelled my trip to Bandung.

Finally went to the bookstore!!! Trinkets is already available but only the hardcover. Like the cheapskate I am, I didn't bought the book. I bought this instead:
I heard from Goodreads it's good, so let's hope I'm not wrong.

My mom bought me some yarns and I plan to make a neck warmer out of it (although I don't need a neck warmer damn you tropical weather)

Bye. x

craft day (and other stuffs)

(resisting the urge to put exclamation marks in the title because once you do, you'll never stop [!!!!!!!!!!!!]. [See what I mean?])

Anyway last week we went to a nearby craft bazaar to see some stuffs overloaded with awesomeness.

And I participated!!! I sell my handmade friendship bracelets and I made some money. I've never been prouder of myself. I also joined a scrapbooking workshop (I forgot to ask my mother to capture me gluing some stuffs) and I freaked out when I saw a container loaded with nice printed leftover papers and almost took all of it home (pics later). And the other crafters were really nice and make cooler stuffs than mine.

DOLLSSSSSS AHH ME LUV DOLLS

this one is my favorite but I didn't get to buy it :(

One of the cool crafters I friended brought a mini guitar which is really cool. Not an ukulele, not yet a guitar. GEDDIT???? She's a huge fan of Beatles (you can tell from her stuffs) she even bought the song book, so we jammed All My Loving and Hey Jude together. Funnnnn.

my nails with  a 50-cent-probably-fake-and-toxic-ugly-green-nail-polish

the stuff I was doing.
Stuff I bought:

ugh cutest thing ever

The plant's roots are wrapped in the round thing which is actually a moss tied with string. The method is called Kokedama. I want to be responsible of something during break (anything but my sister) and THIS STUFF IS COOL so I bought it. The best thing is I don't have to water my sansiviera every day so it's kinda like a cactus or something

And this is how I water them. While the moss is soaked, I can touch the icky wet stuffs with my finger. Or staring pointlessly at the damp clothes on the line. Or observing ants marching across the wall. Or leave it there for ten minutes to watch glee. This is why having a kokedama is more interesting than having an ordinary plant.

VINTAGE BROOCHEZ NUFF SAID.

AND THESE FREEBIES FROM MY NICEST FRIENDS EVER THANKS BBZ

And May the 4th be with you guys (not that I followed the rest of this misguided world and surrender my life to Star Wars fandom). Happy birthday to my dad, a huge fan of Star Wars. He doesn't know I have another blog. My dad is very strict about publicating his birthday, he even doesn't post his birth date on facebook. My aunt gave him a vintage May 1965 calendar which is really cool I wanted to share the picture of it here but he took my memory card. What are you an undercover spy or something

though he doesn't have to be Totally Spies' Jerry to be the coolest dad ever.

dont tell him i said that
